Samsung has officially teased the Exynos 2600, signaling a major shift in its chip strategy just ahead of the Galaxy S26 series debut.

After months of rumors and benchmark leaks, Samsung has now confirmed the Exynos 2600 is on the way. The announcement came via a short teaser on the company’s YouTube channel, accompanied by a tagline that reads:

“In silence, we listened. Refined at the core, optimized at every level. To express the exceptional. Exynos 2600.”

A caption below the video simply states “coming soon,” suggesting the chipset will launch before the Galaxy S26 lineup is revealed likely at the next Unpacked event in February.

Sodium-Ion Flashlight Promises Cold-Weather Power and 2,500 Lumens

Sodium-ion flashlight boasts 2,500 lumens, 10,000mAh power bank, and 88% runtime at –40°C, now crowdfunding with March 2026 delivery.

The Galaxy S26 family is expected to include multiple models, and not all of them will use the same SoC. While Samsung hasn’t confirmed specific pairings yet, it’s likely the base Galaxy S26 will ship with the Exynos 2600 in select markets continuing its usual dual-chip strategy.

Historically, Exynos versions of Galaxy phones have lagged behind their Snapdragon counterparts. But if leaks are accurate, this generation may close the gap for good.

Unlike its predecessor, the Exynos 2500, the new chip appears far more competitive. Early benchmark results suggest the Exynos 2600 could match Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Elite in both CPU and GPU performance.

Samsung also claims this will be its first SoC built on a 2 nm process node, giving it:

That combination could finally put Exynos-powered phones on equal footing with Snapdragon-based rivals.

Samsung’s in-house chips have struggled for years, often drawing criticism from power users and developers. The Exynos 2600, however, is shaping up to be a redemption moment. With real-world performance reportedly in line with industry leaders, this chip might change the public narrative around Exynos once and for all.

Samsung hasn’t confirmed exactly which regions will receive the Exynos 2600 variant of the Galaxy S26. Still, it’s safe to expect the same pattern as previous years Exynos models in Europe, Snapdragon units in North America and South Korea.

All eyes now turn to Unpacked 2026. If Samsung delivers on the promise, this may be its strongest flagship launch in years.
